Most of us believe that uploading multiple images in wordpress at once is impossible. However it can be a quite tedious job to upload images one by one if you have quite a number of them to upload.
Today i have realized the fact that WordPress by default allow us to upload multiple images at once!
Follow the steps below showing how to upload multiple images in wordpress.
1-) When you are at a post or page edit page, click on the ‘Add an Image’ icon
2-) A pop up box will open up that asks you to Select Files

3-) Browse the files in your local file system, hold CTRL to select
multiple images files, once you have selected the images you wana upload, hit the Ok button, and all the selected images will be multiple batch uploaded.

I am sure this will help beginners. thanks for posting.
very nice
cool stuff for noobs
useful information really helpful for newbies..
I’m using self hosted wordpress and it doesn’t work on a mac. This is using the ‘browser’ upload, and holding ‘shift’ or ‘control’. I tried using the ‘flash uploader’ and that allows you to select multiple images and starts uploads and crunches the images but has a ‘http error’ and the images aren’t uploaded?
The hard part is to insert the 3 images to the post in 1 click…
omg is that all you needed to do? Wow haha
I can’t believe how easy that was, I kept click on shift! thanks so much for the tip!
Wow! HOW DID WE ALL MISS THIS ONE!
Thanks bro. And yes, I’m a wordpress noob (1-2 months woohoo!)
Cool I cant believe this!! I always thought we had to use a plugin for such functionality. Thanks!!
Unfortunately, this creates a “gallery” and shows only thumbnails of your images which, again opens to a new window. What if we want to upload 10 images to be displayed directly, fully on the post? No way so far…
As for me, I use offline blogging tool such as Live Writer. Really save lot of my time.
thanks so much. it’s realy helpful for me…
